Manages the bank’s compliance function and has responsibility and accountability for ensuring that the policies, procedures, and practices of the bank comply with appropriate laws and regulations. The incumbent will manage the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with designated laws and regulations affecting the bank. The incumbent will act as a liaison between the bank, corporate and legal in matters related to compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 

• Provide guidance and training to junior level staff
• Assist in the management and further development of the Bank’s enterprise-wide compliance management
• Provide direction for special back-end reviews
• Coordinate compliance information and document requests for compliance examinations
• Continue updates to deposit and compliance programs or roadmaps that detail the regulatory requirements and the Bank’s activities related to ensuring compliance with the regulations.
• Continue annual updates to corporate compliance policies/statements
• Participate in special projects as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

College degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting preferred. 5 or more years extensive job related experience in a commercial banking operations environment to include consumer laws and regulatory/compliance reporting responsibilities; thorough knowledge of statutory and regulatory guidelines related to banking compliance; with proven working experience recommending effective actions to Senior Management. Intermediate level of Excel, Word and Access and excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
 

The preferred skills set emphasis should be someone with extensive work experience in all aspects of regulatory deposit compliance and advertisement/marketing; and aspects of electronic banking compliance is a plus.

Also, someone with federal or state regulatory work experience / training is highly desired. One must be a self-starter with strong analytical skills. Excellent oral / written communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential.
